Anne Broussard Center

Anne Broussard received her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and was a strong advocate for children and families. Anne started a home Child Care Center in the early 1980’s and moved on to become the Director of La Crescenta Presbyterian Child Care Center. Thereafter, she was the Director of a Child Care Center at Mt. St. Mary’s in downtown Los Angeles. Anne worked for the City of Pasadena and retired from the County of Orange as the Child Care Coordinator. She essentially “ran the show” when it came to licensing centers, allocating funding, and making sure every child care center in basically all of Southern California had everything they needed to protect and love the children. Not only did she do her day job, but she volunteered outside of work, while raising 4 of her own children. She lobbied Congress in Washington, D.C. and legislators in Sacramento for better pay for child care workers and more funding for children and family services. She served on various non-profit Board of Directors and Anne prioritized working on behalf of the underserved communities who needed care the most. The Anne Broussard Early Childcare Education Center at El Salvador is dedicated to Anne’s legacy, offering free and subsidized child care to those who qualify, continuing her advocacy for quality early childhood education and support for underserved communities.
